Dooney & Bourke considered it a traditional collection of handbags based on the diagram of an actual ammunition pouch. This pouch was discovered in the archives of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Vintage Dooney Bourke AWL Cavalry Bags have classic lines, brass closures, and bold embossed USA stamped on the leather surrounding its brass closure piece. Dooney Bourke embossed their Cavalry Collection of bags with the bold USA to lend an air of authenticity.

Authenticity: All signs present- Brass Dooney Duck Fob; genuine brass metal parts; Dooney Bourke USA stamped in the leather around the brass closure piece; Remnants of clipped cloth serial number tag sewn inside. (Dooney & Bourke clips or slashes their red white and blue cloth serial # tags when they sell a bag which is slightly irregular or is an overstock item. I can not see anything irregular about the bag myself).

Condition: "Like New" with only very minimal signs of any use. No damage, no rips, tears, no stains (except a very small water stain just to the right of the brass closure plate-see picture); no odors other than Dooney Leather.
